If you are a CTA* with at least five years of experience, then it may be time to take the next step and enroll in the Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) program. The CTC was designed for those who are seeking or currently in leadership positions. The courses focus on the various aspects of building and growing your business, such as financial and business planning, marketing and management skills.

For many, earning the CTC is a career-changing experience. The CTC is often used in an organization as the standard for giving recognition, bonuses and promotions. If you run your own business, then the CTC gives you the keys to take your future in your own hands.

The CTC curriculum includes courses on ten key topics. In addition, CTC candidates write a White Paper on a topic of their own choosing. This paper is often one of the highlights of the experience and you may find that your paper gets chosen to be shared as a member benefit to all members of The Travel Institute. For the professional on the go or the tech-savvy individual, you can have study materials as mobile as you by choosing the PDF format and you can study on your computer or electronic reader. If you are more comfortable with a book that you can highlight, mark, and quickly return to as a reference, that option is also available – just choose the version that you like best.

While certification has a cost, it need not be a burden. You can pay for your materials and testing in full, or enjoy the convenience of a 12-month interest-free payment plan. The choice is yours.

For 50 years, the CTC has been the gold-standard of travel industry professionalism and respect. Don’t you think it is time you joined the ranks of the industry movers and shakers?

The CTC program can be completed in 6 to 9 months, however, candidates have 12 months to complete testing and their White Paper. Many students choose to study independent study, but they may also opt to attend a Professional Institute (formerly Executive Institute) to complete the course testing. Cancellations/Refunds: CTC candidates wishing to withdraw are entitled to a full refund less a $50 administrative fee, provided they return their original study materials in saleable condition along with a written request for withdrawal within 30 days of their enrollment. After 30 days, no refunds will be given.

* The CTC Fast Track: If you want to earn the CTC and have more than 5 years experience, but haven’t yet earned a CTA, call The Travel Institute and ask about our CTC Fast Track program. You may be eligible to pay a reduced fee for the CTA test-only option, and once you pass that, proceed immediately to the CTC program.
